Attending this event?
Thursday July 25, 2024 10:15am - 11:15am EDT
This workshop explores strategies for engaging students and teachers within your school’s unique culture and identity. We will model Millbrook High School’s values and magnet theme to connect students to the International Baccalaureate Core. We will share two years of action research that have allowed students to link our school’s magnet focus to content and knowledge creation. Through regular reflection, dialogue, discussion, and debate our students have synthesized and transferred IB connections vertically and horizontally.  Participants will gain actionable insights on fostering teacher agency, encouraging ownership, and empowering educators to make impactful pedagogical decisions. We will share real-world examples that can boost teachers' abilities to enhance student social and emotional learning and skills. DEVICES SUGGESTED
